Well, colour me Cherry Crush! 🍒 Some evenings call for slippers, a cup of tea and an early night (most evenings if I'm honest). Others call for a little glamour, gorgeous company and a rather fabulous surprise.
Last week was most definitely the latter!
We slipped out of our usual slow-living attire and into something a little more glamorous for the Woman & Home Holy Grail Beauty Awards 2026, hosted at the beautiful Youngblood Art Gallery in Cape Town.
The room was sparkling with the who's who of beauty, wonderful judges, our fabulous host, familiar faces and industry friends we seem to reunite with once a year during awards season. It's always such a joy to be included in these gorgeous soirées.
And then came our very own pinch-me moment...

Cue the blushing. Quite literally.
To be recognised amongst so many beautiful brands by such an esteemed panel of judges is something we never take for granted. Deeply grateful, wonderfully honoured and, yes, possibly still smiling.
And can we take a moment for those legendary goody bags? Honestly, almost worth attending for those alone. Almost. ;)
A little cherry on top
I created Cherry Crush because I wanted one gorgeous little pot of colour that could do more while asking less of us.
A beautiful, buildable cherry flush for cheeks, lips AND eyes, packed with skin-loving superfood goodness to nourish, hydrate and leave skin looking deliciously fresh.
Makeup that behaves a little like skincare. Because why shouldn't our beauty products multitask?

Meanwhile, back at Yellowood...
The magic is slowly emerging from the mayhem! Our new roof is finally on (goodbye, dreadful asbestos!), internal walls are up, and our beautiful built-in beds and bedside tables are taking shape. Otium by Yellowood is beginning to look less like a dusty building site and more like the eco-luxe nature retreat we've been dreaming of. Granted, there's still drilling, grinding, digging, cement dust and a soundtrack that is anything but zen... but through all the glorious chaos, we can see it. Our little sanctuary coming to life, one beautiful detail at a time.
And perhaps that's the lovely lesson in all of this.
Beautiful things happen slowly. Whether it's creating a little pot of blush, building a dream or simply learning to enjoy the journey.
