In celebration of Women’s Month, we’re spotlighting inspiring women who are transforming lives through purpose, passion, and presence. Meet Lisa Palmer, founder of The Movement Lab—a safe, inclusive sanctuary for movement, body positivity, and personal empowerment. Through daily rituals rooted in nature, self-care, and meaningful connection, Lisa radiates a glow from within that’s as contagious as it is uplifting. In this soul-led Q&A, she shares how she’s redefining wellness for women in South Africa, championing financial independence, and encouraging others to move with love, purpose, and strength.

Do you have a daily ritual or routine that keeps you grounded and inspired in both life and business? How do you glow from within? Meaningful time with my family/fur kids/friends, exercise, long walks/hikes with my dog/swimming in the sea, and nutritious food. Being kind to others. Breath work.
-
In what ways are you using The Movement Lab platform to make a positive difference in the lives of others? Promoting body positivity and, through my teacher training, encouraging others to follow their dreams to pursue what they love, to move away from negative things, and to know that "you can do it"! Offering scholarships to those who show potential and who show initiative to give back to the community.
-
What is your vision for empowering women, both here in South Africa and across the globe? To emphasise the importance of financial independence, and to try to find ways to help women attain this goal. To encourage women to learn to love themselves and their bodies and to feel the many benefits (not just physical) of movement in any form.
-
In your view, what are the key characteristics of a businesswoman who leads with both strength and kindness? Passion; empathy; consideration for others; don't sweat the small stuff; treat everyone as equals; mindfulness; lead by example.
-
How is The Movement Lab redefining wellness and movement for women in South Africa? By creating a safe, inclusive space where clients feel welcomed, valued, and loved.
We love Lisa's approach to life and aim to inspire you to move through your life with purpose, love, kindness and strength in everything you choose to do.
Happy Women's Month!
