Here’s a recent query for Nicole.

“I’ve suffered with pigmentation for 5 years now and nothing seems to be helping. I’ve tried so many different products, chemical peels, sunscreens and even some natural brands, but my pigmentation is still there. It makes me really depressed every time I look in the mirror and remember when I used to have clear skin. Please can you help.” Jessica, Germiston

How do I get rid of pigmentation on my face?

Hi Jessica

Please know that you are not alone in your frustration. I personally went through a very tough few years and suffered with my health. As a result, I experienced adult acne, eczema, pigmentation and dehydration. Dehydration presented as premature ageing. I was in my late thirties and going through some big life changes at the time, so it was stressful. I visited dermatologists and skin experts but my conditions seemed to worsen. It was a very dark time in my life. A time that made me feel quite desperate and also quite hopeless.

What is the best treatment for pigmentation?

I knew that in order for real healing to happen, I would have to take my health into my own hands and understand what was causing these issues.
I started researching ingredients in skincare & food products, and what I found, blew my mind. I discovered some pretty nasty side effects from preservatives, colourings and perfumes. I realised that something much bigger than the next ‘quick fix’ in skincare was needed. Through my deep research I discovered that sunscreens (unless 100% natural), contain very harmful chemicals that actually cause pigmentation. The same applied to chemically-focused skincare and beauty product, particularly foundations. I also discovered that I needed to sort out my gut health in order for my skin to heal.

How to get rid of pigmentation forever

I turned to a 90% plant based diet and began formulating my own skincare products and within a month I could see a massive change in the health and texture of my skin. After 5 months, I could barely see any signs of the skin issues I was suffering with, and my health began to turn around. I’ve never looked back and that is why I’m so incredibly passionate about inspiring humans to make more conscious and effective choices in their lives.

Transformation is literally one choice away.

With much love

Nicole

1. Love your Skin

  • Start with a natural and gentle skincare routine with a natural brand that offers superfood vitamins so that your skin can utilize those nutrients to heal itself.

  • Try NOT to mix other brands into your skincare routine. The skin requires simplicity.

  • Always be gentle on yourself and your skin.

  • Practice mindful skincare applications, always loving your skin back to health.

  • Always wash, exfoliate, hydrate & moisturise.

  • Kindness rules in the healing world.

2. Love your Gut

It’s a real thing. You are what you eat. Know that your gut plays a vital role in the health of your skin. Be mindful of what you eat and drink on a daily basis as everything that passes your lips, sits in the gut to either turn into energy and nutrients or toxins. Remember, a high plant-based diet is king. Fresh fruits and veggies, nuts, seeds, legumes, sprouts. All these live foods create nutrient-rich energy in our human digestive system and either add value or deplete our body function. The choice is ALWAYS yours. Get conscious, by adopting a conscious eating plan that holds high nutritional value and it will never feel like you’re on a diet.

3. Be Pro-Biotic

A daily probiotic is a vital addition to your daily gut health routine. Nurture Daily Probiotic is a powerful natural blend of beneficial probiotic strains, formulated for daily digestive support. With 15 billion CFUs in every capsule, this probiotic supplement helps to maintain a good balance of beneficial intestinal microflora. It’s beneficial for digestion and nutrient absorption, and helps to manage digestive issues like gas and bloating. GMO-free and gluten-free, made with quality ingredients in vege-friendly capsules.

4. Choose Organic

Wherever possible try to buy organic. Organic veggies are grown without any harmful pesticides or other chemical nasties that can play havoc with your gut. We prefer growing our own and off these delightful PLANTING CHOCOLATES that look like a chocolate slab, but are packed with amazingly nutritious organic veggie seeds. It’s super exciting to watch them grow in your own garden or window box. Such a treat and they taste delicious.
