Twelve years of blending, learning, growing, stumbling, healing, celebrating, questioning, creating and sometimes completely reinventing ourselves.

This month, Eco Diva Natural celebrates its 12th birthday, and when I look back at where we began and how far we have come, one feeling rises above everything else: gratitude in abundance.

Eco Diva was born from my own healing journey. After experiencing heavy metal toxicity and the skin challenges that followed, including adult acne, rosacea and pigmentation, I began looking more deeply at what I was putting into and onto my body.

I came to understand that our skin is not separate from the rest of us. It reflects our gut health, our nervous system, our environment, our lifestyle and often the emotions we carry. I began exploring the healing intelligence of plants, minerals, superfoods and simple daily rituals.

What started as homemade skincare recipes shared on television slowly grew into something far bigger than I could ever have imagined.

It became Eco Diva Natural.

Twelve years of natural skincare and conscious beauty

There have been extraordinary highs over these twelve years.

We have watched Eco Diva grow from a small homegrown dream into a multi award-winning South African natural skincare brand. Our products have found their way into bathrooms, travel bags, treatment rooms, family homes and daily rituals across South Africa and around the world.

We have won incredible beauty awards and received recognition from respected editors, beauty experts and publications. Every award has filled us with enormous pride, not simply because of the title, but because it affirms that natural, ethical skincare can be both beautiful and exceptionally effective.

We have seen customers discover us for the first time and return again and again. We have received messages from people whose skin has calmed, strengthened, softened and begun to glow again. We have heard from customers who finally feel comfortable leaving the house without makeup, who have rediscovered confidence in their skin and who have begun to see caring for themselves as a daily wellness ritual rather than another chore.

Those stories remain our greatest milestones. They remind us why we continue.

The beauty of growing, and the wisdom of slowing down

Like every real journey, ours has included challenges too. There have been growing pains, difficult decisions, moments of uncertainty and lessons that could only be learned by living through them. We have grown quickly, stretched ourselves, changed direction and discovered that bigger is not always better.

At one stage, we believed that growth meant moving faster, doing more and constantly reaching for the next thing. Eventually, we realised that the true heart of Eco Diva had always been found in a slower, more intentional way of doing things.

That realisation gave birth to one of the most important philosophies in our business:

Slow is a skincare ingredient.

Healthy skin doesn't respond well to panic, pressure or punishment. It responds to consistency, nourishment, patience and care.

The same is true for a business, a body and a life.

Slowing down has allowed us to return to our roots, to listen more closely to our customers, to refine our formulations, to make more conscious decisions and to create with greater intention.

We have never been interested in chasing beauty trends or encouraging fear around ageing. We believe in ageing well. We believe in supporting the skin rather than fighting it. We believe that beautiful things happen slowly.

Perhaps that is what I am most proud of after twelve years.

Eco Diva has become more than a collection of natural skincare products. It has become a community of thoughtful, curious and beautifully conscious humans choosing to care for themselves without compromising the wellbeing of animals or the planet.
