The Moment I Gave Myself Permission to Begin Again | SUNDaze

Posted by Nicole Sherwin on

There are seasons in life where everything feels... heavy. Not because anything is necessarily wrong. Just because somewhere along the way, you slowly stopped recognising yourself.

You keep showing up.

You keep working.

You keep ticking the boxes.

But the joy becomes quieter.

Over the past few months, I've realised that I wasn't tired because I had too much to do. I was tired because I had drifted away from the way I love creating.

For years, I've built Eco Diva around beautiful products and the rituals that support our wellbeing. But lately, something has quietly shifted. I've realised I've never simply wanted to build a skincare company. I've always wanted to create a place where people remember themselves.

A place where beauty is slower.

Where conversations matter.

Where wellness isn't another trend but a way of moving through the world with greater intention.

That realisation has gently led me to create The Studio—a creative home where writing, thoughtful conversations, films, rituals and beautiful ideas come together. Eco Diva remains at its heart, but the conversations have become broader. They now explore what it truly means to live well.

Within The Studio lives ChannelOne—a space for reflections, practical rituals and quiet reminders that help us return to ourselves amidst the noise of everyday life.

Alongside it is SUNDaze Tea, a series of intimate conversations shared over a cup of tea with inspiring holistic practitioners, creatives and thought leaders exploring health, longevity, creativity and the gentle art of living with intention.

At first glance, they may seem like different projects. But they're not.

They're simply different rooms inside the same home. And perhaps the biggest lesson I've learnt over these past few weeks wasn't about business at all.

It was about permission.

Permission to change.

Permission to outgrow old systems.

Permission to say "no" without guilt.

Permission to choose partnerships that feel nourishing instead of simply profitable.

Permission to create less—but create it beautifully.

For so much of my life, I believed the answer was to keep pushing. To work harder. To fit more into every day.

Lately, I've discovered something far more powerful. Sometimes the next chapter doesn't arrive because you worked harder.

It arrives because you became quieter. Because you finally listened. Because you stopped asking,

"What should I build?"

…and started asking,

"What feels deeply true?"

It's amazing how quickly life begins to rearrange itself once you answer honestly.

I've also realised that, for a long time, I thought I was trying to grow a business. Now I realise I was simply trying to find my way back to myself.

The business came along for the journey. Eco Diva isn't only becoming more successful. It's becoming even more truthful.

The Studio isn't a marketing idea. It's an expression of who I've always been.

ChannelOne isn't another content platform. It's the place where all the different parts of my life—wellness advocate, entrepreneur, storyteller, interviewer, actor, writer, gardener and endlessly curious human—finally get to exist together.

Perhaps that's why I feel excited again. Re-inspired. Re-juvenated. Re-aligned. Not because I've found a clever strategy.

But because I've stopped separating life into compartments. Everything now belongs to the same story. Maybe that's what living well really is.

Not perfect routines.

Not expensive wellness habits.

Not another morning checklist.

Simply the courage to notice when your heart is pointing in a different direction…

…and trusting it enough to follow.

Perhaps that's why I've always believed skincare is never really about skin. It's about the relationship we have with ourselves.

Every morning. Every evening.

We're given another quiet opportunity to come home. Not to who we were. But to who we've quietly been becoming all along.

This week, I hope you give yourself permission.

Permission to rest.

Permission to begin again.

Permission to make one small decision that feels more like you than yesterday.

Because beautiful lives are rarely built through dramatic moments. They're built quietly. One honest choice at a time.

With love,

Nicole xx

Until next SUNDaze... may you live gently, choose consciously, and always find your way back to yourself. x
