Gut Cleans to Banish Acne & Breakouts

Whether you are suffering from teenage acne, adult acne or any type of skin breakout, chances are, your skin & hormones will be out of their perfect pH balance.

What can cause the imbalance?

When the gut is not functioning as it should (constipation, bloating, pain or tenderness), it can cause havoc with our skin in the form of acne, cystic eruptions and skin irritations.

A diet high in sugar, gluten and dairy can cause yeast to grow in unhealthy quantities throughout your digestive system. Antibiotics to treat acne-prone skin could also be  contributing to the problem: High-sugar diets, antibiotic use and certain diseases such as diabetes can make the gut flora more ‘yeasty’ than it can handle. Acne is a very common symptom of a yeast imbalance which can manifest in skin eruptions, bloating, digestive issues, constipation, lethargy, and foggy head—plus, this is the same type of yeast infection that could present as vaginal thrush.

What to do?

Turn your health around by being conscious of what you are eating. Let food be your medicine and it will heal your skin, your gut and your life.

Try a 30-Day diet shift and gut cleanse, that will have your skin and your health glowing in just a couple of weeks, and have you well on your journey to lasting pH balance. Consistent pH balance means no acne or breakouts.

Things to avoid:

SUGAR (sugar can also be found in cereals, alcohol, cakes, sauces, breads, deserts, sodas, smoothies, ice cream)

GLUTEN (found in bread, cakes, crackers, cereals, biscuits, chips, pies)

DAIRY (found in milk, cheese, cream, ice-cream)

MEAT (Cut down your intake by a minimum of 70% for 30 days)

Things to include:

FRESH LEAFY GREEN VEGGIES (Spinach, cucumber, kale, cabbage, broccoli, pak choi, lettuce)

ALL OTHER VEGGIES (butternut, potato, carrots, beetroot, turnip, fennel, tomatoes)

SEEDS & NUTS: If you are not nut intolerant, nuts and seeds can be incredibly healthy protein alternatives that contain extra phytonutrients, anti-oxidants and omegas

FRUIT (All kinds)

LEMONS – are great alkalizing fruits even though they taste acidic. Squeeze half a lemon in a tall glass of water and drink 6-8 glasses per day. This is a wonderful, alkalizing cleanse.

Add to your gut health journey by making this easy gut cleansing recipe:

GUT HEALTH CLEANSE JUICE:

1.500ml purified or filtered water

2. 3 leaves of Spinach

3. 5 stalks Celery

4. 1 green Apple

5. 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper

6. Half a lemon squeezed

Directions: Wash all fruits and veggies first. Place all ingredients into a blender and blend together until smooth. Drink throughout the day, every day for 30 days. Once you see and feel the difference, this will become your daily ritual.
