Still Glowing Strong – Gut health for skin health

2019 is in full swing ladies and gents. The Christmas tree might not be glowing anymore, but at least your skin can do the trick from now with a bit of chewing.

Beauty does truly come from within. They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, but guess what? The same formula applies to your skin.

The three musketeers are back and this time in green. Avocado, broccoli and spinach are at the top of our list. Avocado is full of fibre, magnesium vitamin E. It’s the perfect spread on toast and makes a wonderful dip for your lunch.

Broccoli is packed with Vitamins and is a brilliant detox food, this one is definitely the wonder veggie.

And finally, spinach is a powerhouse of all essential vitamins and minerals, especially vitamin E, your skin’s favourite! Try an easy salad combo of spinach, nuts and apple when you are in a hurry, or add feta and pomegranate for a fully fresh experience. Feel free to add some seeds (like flaxseeds, sunflower seeds and poppy seeds – all packed with nutrients) for that extra bit of love.

Speaking of nuts, almonds are the kings of vitamin E and rich in fibre, healthy fats, protein and magnesium. Almonds also help lower your blood sugar levels. They are the perfect ingredient for salads and smoothies.

Now that we have shared the basics, you can head to the kitchen with no effort and loads of creativity. The options are endless, but remember, no matter how much you chew-chew-chew, the most important elixir is still our favourite H20 and a good night’s sleep. The happy formula is eight glasses (best is bottled, filtered or spring water) and eight hours.
